EDIT: I only play solo, Cleric is totally viable on his own. Judgement comes in super clutch PvP, feels like a MOBA ultimate!
And with mate it's more easier. Self heal spell, cleric heal, fire-camp of ranger kit ect.
In my opinion. Healing it's not a real problem actually
Cleric can only have all that healing available if you've got enough +Knowledge gear or +Spell capacity gear equipped. Cleric can only start with the self-castable +15hp heal (4/4) and the target-only +30hp heal (4/4) with the starting kit. Sanctuary is a (2/2) castable that requires 6 spell points to equip, so you'll need atleast +4 knowledge starting to replace one of your tier 1 spells with it in order to have 3 heals.
And cleric is garbage at farming compared to a barbarian. Cleric is only good when you can buff your self with Divine Strike, Blessing, and Protection with a good Quarterstaff or War Hammer equipped, otherwise it's just a boring ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Barbarian is just a faceroller class that is the best for farming imo. Spending a day in the goblin cave with a barb will net you like a ~70% extraction rate at least, and net around 4K gold, especially if you're diligent and quick in farming the southwest corner of the map with all the jewelry, ore and good chests.
I'm a slightly ahead of the bell curve player with experience from the last play test. People always preach don't get hit, but you are definitely going to get hit during a dungeon.
Starting new players with no healing and having to grind for hours to perfect your opening sequence on spawn, in order to extract with a pittance to afford potions; not fun.
No other BR starves players for healing this much. Every single deployment to the map would be a full-fledged game and not some "must not get hit, must rat on the edge of circle so I can extract with this green bangle and maybe afford some crumbs for next game". It's ludicrous.
Imo it is the laughable amount a healing potion replenishes.
Blue potion heals 30 dmg only and that over time, but has quick use.
Healing items found in the dungeon are fine as is, healing shouldn't be easy without a cleric.
Core problem is players are not able to adequately equip themselves with healing on an every-game basis. Outlined in the OP are 4 methods to introduce a lavish amount of healing so players can enjoy the game on each and every deployment.
Whether it's the fact their 4-inventory-square plate boots only vendor for 2 gold, while a potion costs 6... Or the dire lack of consumable spawns on the map doesn't matter. Healing availability is in a terrible spot.
No other BR is like this. We want to spawn in and loot up then fight PvE or PvP to escape. Consumables and equipment need to be available. Chests should not take 5 seconds to open. That is not engaging content.
6 gold each is not cheap. you need 18-36 gold per game just for those, to have an enjoyable experience. that is quite a lot of plate boots, gloves and bangles on a per-game basis, simply to finance healing potions. Then we need bandages and protection potions.
Thats what I do anyway.
Making sure this game is as far from other battle royales as possible is an absolute win.
This isn't a "top up to full HP every time you take a point of damage" kind of game.
It's not that simple to say "loot this area"
1) it's contested
2) might've been looted before I arrive
3) might die before reaching it
4) spawn might mean it's unreasonable to reach it
do I need to go on?
Yeah it's more of a "why does nobody pay for or play my game anymore?" kind of game, if making adequate healing consumables for the mid-to-low bell curve players is not addressed.
