Not quite true. The best class for a new player is one that fits their playstyle. For me, Rogue was the easiest. Barbarian felt like I was trying to swing a 2x4 underwater.
So the best thing a new player can do is try all the classes to find the best fit.
Hell, I'd say that, rogue with grey quality weapons vs white quality weapons is a fairly noticeable difference compared to other classes getting a similar upgrade
The ranger bow is also horrible. Barbarian weapon is kind of ok.
it is fun as long as you can avoid any good player to get in melee range, unless you spec spear, but you will not be as good in range.
