I disagree about number portals going down as well, I would go the other way and add some, the game seems to have trouble spawning them on lower floors already, also I see no reason to punish the kind of cooperative, or stealth play that some classes are less more suited to than the true solo far more PvP oriented play that less portals would necessitate.
I think you're right about the mobs, most of them are easy to kite or wait for the long heal animation. Maybe the big boi loot rooms should have red mobs with different animations like the nightmare versions do.
Yea, those red spiders are incrediably annoying and you have a hard time with them if you don't have range to break the crap in the way of the urn
It's going the right direction imo. It is hard enough to kick beginner's arses, which they can reasonably overcome with a little dedication. For seasoned people it is still fun because of the troll room. The troll room has fairly nice loot (maximum epic) and it allows for some interesting gameplay moments, Either total war between players trying to claim the troll loot, or even some unexpected alliances.
All in all, i think it is pretty nicely executed, and mind you that it still has an "experimental" label slapped into it. So, yeah, they're probably reading all opinions on it. Just keep posting the impressions and lets hope they keep improving this already fun addition to the game.
