Stay hidden, loot, try to extract and build up a gold collection. Your goal shouldn't be to pvp.
They want easy mode. They just assumed being solo would achieve it on its own. Lol
Devs never said solo dungeon was easier dungeon. And yet thread after thread of people complaining that its more difficult. Haha
That's what I've been trying to do. I'm not interested in fighting other players until I'm confident in the mechanics of the game. It's just very disheartening to go through multiple rooms with such a flimsy starter kit. Is Rogue not a good beginner class?
This is my first time playing the game. I haven't complained about anything having to do with solo/group dungeon balance. The only thing I said was that it's frustrating and I'm not sure how to progress.
What's insane is the goblins take more to kill than anything else and you will always be swarmed by multiple of them. Try killing one as an archer... the amount of headshots it took to kill were double digits. That's incredibly bad.
I can give you what limited knowledge I have, and everyone is different but in terms of being able to succeed at the game you need the right frame of mind.
My thought process is to make myself have a fun sustainable gameplay loop with as basic gear as possible.
Unfortunately my fav class the mage requires a book and crystal sword to have that feeling and it requires the traders to have those items and you need to stock up in previous play tests cause they didn't always have them, the sword takes care of mobs easy and the book allows for decent speed with spells in pvp.
The Rogue requires a good dagger, and for the least investment the Ranger can go in with nothing and hunt down an archer skelly and have a decent bow and you are set for a fun sustainable gameplay loop even if you dont succeed going in and getting a bow is the fun part and its easy enough to be enjoyable, once you start popping off it just gets better from there.
Gear makes the difference and I never hesitate to use gear as I see it all as easy come easy go just like the grey gear, once you start getting some wins and money and buying / selling gear on the market its not hard to let it flow.
I've gotten a few escapes from the cave so far, and i do like that cooperation is more likely than in the group lobbies, but i genuinely think the gob cave is really messy (both in level design and PvE design) and multiple steps backwards from the "normal" map.
I've come around to it a bit more by playing more of it, but the map is really ugly. The dark fantasy vibe the castle map had was way cooler. It would have been much more fair for testing the solo queue if both the cave and the castle were available for solo players, or making the cave just an extra map for group players to explore while just giving a solo version of the castle to solo players.
Really appreciate the help! I switched to the Archer and was able to use your advice to extract. Looting the skeletal archer was a huge help. Thanks!
It needs balancing. it's simple like that. Most rooms have 4 to 6 or even 7 goblins which are faster and stronger than zombies and skeletons. It also has insects that are 3 to 5 times stronger than the ones in the castle.
If you doubt it, give it a try on your own. Play both the castle and the cave Solo and see if you won't change your mind instead of making disingenuous comments like that.
