Does stats from equipment really works?

As I can see, when I change items with stats in Stash, stats don't change in the left corner

they have to be equipped in the hands for the stats to take affect, can only really see the change in game when you pull out the weapon

Do the 2nd set of weapons only give their bonus effect when switching to them or also when equipped but using the first set?

Only equipped weapons give the stat increases, when you switch weapons its switches to those stats.

ye when i change gear the stats dont change, doesnt matter which part of gear...
