"Failed to connect to server. Quit the game."

Not a very useful message. I cannot connect at all.
I have removed the old playtest and downloaded the new demo version.
I verified the files and patched with the update.
I have restarted steam multiple times.

Any other suggestions?

I'm getting this same issue again after being able to play for 27 hours. I was able to play today. After I restarted the game it won't let me connect and instantly fails.
Restarted steam.
Restarted computer.
Verified files.
Reinstalled game.
Killed all the background processes that normally cause problems.
Not running any of the known software that causes crashes.

Why are there no error logs?

The devs seem to be ignoring these issues which is frustrating. I couldn't find any discussion on either the steam forums, reddit or discord about this issue.

I did however fix this issue for myself. The fix was to add an exception on my Norton Smart Firewall for the DungeonCrawler.exe file. It was previously blocking it due to being a suspicious file. Hope it works for everyone else.
