Was doing some playtesting to see if rogues ability and invisibility potions were 100% invisible or if they had any shimmer at all. My friend who I was doing it with also got banned for using the injector.

Good, 9 times out of 10 it's just placebo ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anyway. 10 times out of 10 it's a waste of time and not worth the hassle, even if it looks 0.03% better.

I used reshade throughout the test and didn't get banned.
Personally I use reshade for sharpening and colour grading/ tint correction but the shadows in this game are baked.
Basically that means you cant remove them or realistically improve seeing into shadows. Unless of course you were using a nefarious filter.

Reshade has a bad rep with people who dont understand it. It's much the same as putting all setting to low and increasing brightness which isn't considered cheating. Most use it for reducing blur from overly aggressive AA which this game has.

If you got banned I suspect you were cheating in some other way and are playing the reshade card.
Ive never been banned for using reshade in a PVP game since I've never used a nefarious filter.
Based on what youve said I suspect you were trying to use depthmapping to view the 3d mapping (no colour/textures just 3d outlining) to see.

That honestly is pretty lame.

why not just use nvidia freestyle it uses reshade and wont get you banned.
anyone who thinks reshade is a tool for cheating are idiots ngl reshade all it does is make the game look alot better, it shouldnt cause you to get banned as it doesnt give you wall hacks aimbot and other cheating advantages.

that said since sweetfx gets you vacbanned why risk using 3rd party graphical stuff? just use what comes with your graphics driver in this case nvidia freestyle if you dont have an nvidia card then idk what amd uses.

note to use freestyle in all games you have to tweak the config file of the nvidia drivers

The issue with using nvidia filter is that their sharpening solutions suck although I think you can add filters now.
The other issue Is that to use nvidia filters, you have to install gfexperience which comes with a ton of bloatware
