Don't let anybody tell you otherwise or pretend like they have the inside scoop because they don't. Nobody knows at this point, all we can do is ask.
How else are they supposed to have fun, if it's not at someone else's expense? If there's no unwilling people to chase down and bludgeon, what's even the point
I would argue otherwise. If there is a mod that allows single player, or alters any other aspect of the game to the player's liking, and they enjoy it, there is nothing wrong with that. We all enjoy games in different ways for different reasons. I hate playing against strangers online, that landscape is fraught with low-brow morons who entire existence is validated by winning an online game by any means.
Even so, I don't expect developers to include features that do not fit their vision, budget, or timeline. Sure, I might ask for a feature to be included, but I would never complain.
???
You talk like what we get now is the full game and all we're gonna get, ignoring the "Alpha" part of it.
That is an obtuse reply. Why would the developers implement that mechanic into the game? Just make single player characters and gear single player only, and not available for online PVP play. I know that would take time, money, and resources, so I won't complain if they don't if that is their vision, they can make the game they want. If enough players ask it could happen. The more options a game has, the broader the audience.
Anyone can customize any game any way they want.
Edit: Actually for a partly similar game but single player check out Dungeons of Edera.
I still support anyone modding or hacking, editing, revisioning, buying, re-making or construing any game any way they want.
But don´t hack multiplayer with other players without telling them. I mean, don´t cheat. Otherwise do your own thing.
