Are the pentagrams nessesary?

Being from a religious family and being religious myself, I am not really fond of such symbols being used. it doesn't scare me or shew me away it just in this scenario being the symbol for spell slots seems rather unnecessary. use a book, pages, a brain, a wizard hat, or even a loaf of bread. no one benefits from it and it puts a block on the game to an audience of people who might be sensitive to it.

Well this symbol is from the Occult, even though it is illustrated in many ways it can still be distasteful to many people, even un-religious people who dislike paranoia. I still am playing this game, but i know people who wouldn't play this game because of that. also why is a pentagram a symbol for your spell slots?

People who believe in the Occult is the reason why its distasteful. if you look into detail it gets pretty horrid in what they do. People believe in the supernatural and I do know its not real in the sense i wont see a red guy with horns appear from the pentagram irl, but i do believe that there is a spiritual realm in our world.

Hebrews as a symbol of the five books of the Pentateuch
Jerusalem as a symbol of justice, mercy, and wisdom
Christians as a symbol of Christ and his five wounds, five joys of Mary, also alpha-omega
Chinese as a symbol of the five elements/phases
Greek as a symbol of recognition, well-being, and charity
Babylonians as a symbol to protect against evil forces
Wicca as a symbol of the elements and universe
Astrology and math
Plenty of other smaller christian offshoots and smaller groups
and then finally Satanism...whether it be the scientific and humanist version that doesn't actually believe in the supernatural and is just poking fun at one of the ruling religions in the world, or the actual weirdos that want to believe and worship some version of the Christian Satan, which is still goofy because that also does not have a biblical basis.

Most of the "evil occult" stuff is modern subcultures and hollywood pop-culture that ignorant fanatics ran with which games and art and all like to stylize. This game doesn't even use the inverted version lmao, meanwhile you're taking part in a game that glorifies the overwhelming power of the undead while using pagan magic to face it and murder other humans...

What's worse, a common symbol for good or even mysticism and nature, or people wearing and plastering Jesus' murder device everywhere? XD

The pentagram was used in ancient Chinese and Japanese religions to symbolize the five elements of life. In Japanese culture the symbol was also considered magical. Ancient Babylonian culture was also using the pentagram to represent various gods and religious beliefs of their own.

In Christian symbolism, the basic pentagram (without a circle) was originally used to represent the five wounds of Jesus Christ. It was soon supplanted by the symbol of the cross, but the pentagram was still recognizable as a Christian symbol for a few hundred years after Jesus’ resurrection.

Nothing in the bible says that pentagrams are bad in any way. Its literally a Christian symbol.

As in Christian, i suppose? So basically the religion that stole EVERY special day they have from another older/different religion, transformed it into more "suitable" terms and shoved it down our throats?
The one that killed millions and justified it by having a cross on their weapons?
The one that is allowed to have loud a$$ bells sounding all the time, annoying everyone?

Rather gimme occult stuff then. At least they have cool flashing symbols!
