Generally speaking people think the book and orb are better than the staff because of increased versatility.
= Better movespeed when preparing for your casting.
Ohh... So if you can equip daggers, that means that you will be able to get the stats from both weapons. And the staff has built in meele.
A dagger also has -10, so it will get the same movespeed.
#4 Staff - Pros -- You have a basic melee attack, decent movement speed and normally the cheapest catalyst.
Cons -- You hit the wall alot when you're spellcasting making it a burden at times in hallways.
#2 Spellbook - Pros -- Best movement speed out of them all, casting is easier since you won't hit the wall asmuch.
Cons -- Can't melee attack, making spider enemies annoying at times. Requiring spell wastage.
#3 Sword -- Pros -- Allows a good poke attack so you can actually melee reliably.
Cons -- The way it works, is that you have 2 damage types which can be a bother. Since people have both physical and magic resistance which is shaving off the damage numbers from both. So overall it's weaker than other types of melee weapons. Still very useful.
#1 Crystal ball arguably the best by proxy for 1 simple reason. You can equip both a melee weapon + the ball. Which means you can get double the stats. But in trade-off you're holding double the weight. So it's up to you if you want reduced movement speed in exchange. Can also equip some good melee weapons which beat out the sword.
Pros - Best stats = more damage and powerbuilding
Cons - Most expensive setup since you're required to supply a secondary weapon which can be costly when you lose a good one / Slowest movement out of the four.
Other than the rondel dagger, what can the wizard equip then? I only managed to max rogue, ranger and fighter this test, missed the last test :).
