and rogues benefit the most because of their movement speed, attack speed, and damage bonuses from the class it's self.
Not to mention it's easy to do solo hell runs as a rogue, where the best gear is at.
Honestly though, anyone looks good in purple gear but the idea of a big meat bag, who relentlessly chases people down, yells out them (the gear fear can be real when you hear that) and punishes them if they dare to melee sounds fun to me.
Admittedly I haven't yet played the game and all classes will look solid in epic loot against naked fresh spawns, but at their core they appear to do what they are meant to do and numbers should be fairly easy to tweak for damage, health, move speed throughout testing. I've also seen barbarians one shot doors down and continue the chase without slowing down, run through traps without concern, and snack a few people with the throwing axes. I haven't seen any fighters doing that (though the windlass crossbow on a fighter looks fun).
Barbarian appears to be buff up, and just keep swinging and using footwork to push them back or get through to the squishies where you 1-shot people. I've played a fair bit of Mordhau & Chivalry 2 and while I don't believe this game intends to be that complicated with melee combat, some skills should transfer over like spacing for your weapon's sweet spot, swing speed, aiming for the head, and footwork.
Or you're just playing barb wrong cause it's plenty strong, just not the best solo class
Funny you don't mention that rogue are outranged in every matchup. You talk about every advantages, but not about the big disavantadge
The only major downside of Rogue is that none of your weapons can break boxes/barrels.
Not much of a disadvantage when you can move faster then all classes to engage, hide, or run away much faster then other classes to escape range.
Getting hit slows you down quite a bit, though, so you have to be good at Rogue to compete against other classes on even ground.
All grief that has been written here is absolutely true in my case.
Any character that has any speed can just back away and you are not able to hit him with attack that takes 2.5 seconds to connect.
And since I was not able to extract even once. You can't expect to start with anything else then basic gear.
At this point If I manage to extract by level 20 I'll be done with the game, and "not like it" to put it lightly.
And If I will not be able to extract, then I'll be actively discouraging my friends to try the game.
Well, this was all a discussion on the last playtest. That being said... this didn't age well.
Barbarian might truly be an unplayable class at the moment. Your slight advantages in combat are so heavily outweighed by the current disadvantages with the new movespeed nerf on the two-handed weapons. Even hitting a single target that's backing up is pretty much impossible with the starting axe.
ye, ranger can kite you around and shoot arrows even w/ your movement speed skill being used. You will not catch him unless he hits an obstacle. RIP barb
