I am now going to find out your teams favorite path.
Finally something that we can agree on. Thankfully I switched to Fighter before the alpha was over and had way more success with her in 8 levels than in 20 on the Barb. Barb in it's current state is like willingly playing the underdog.
Not too sad about it because we've likely only seen a fraction of all the features that are being implemented but if things stay like this for the next alpha I sure as Hell won't be playing this heap of poopoo of a class.
on my end i see and axe in the other persons head though is the issue, which is why i mentioned it seems to be some netcode shenanigans happening at times
Movespeed is king.
If you want to see how:

Having a cleric bot can turn any bad player/class into a workable one.
That doesn't mean Barb is good.
Cleric/Barb is outperformed by Cleric and:
-Rogue with +DMG equipment. Two shots players. Lower TTK than Barb, because of faster attack speed. Fast natural movespeed lets you control when to engage, close faster against ranged, and prevents kiting.
-Fighter can use all the Barb weapons, including felling axe. Can use Victory Strike for 1 hit kills. Sprint doesn't completely strip himself of armor. Can spam self-heals. Faster movespeed than Barb at equivalent armor. Can swaps to bows for 1 shot HS (nuff said).
-Ranger with spear 2 shots in melee, 1 HS with bows. Much faster movespeeds than barb. Instant self heals. Trap to stop pushes cold.
-Wizard. Fastest movespeed, MM ambushes completely ignore armor and cleric bubbles. Shotgun MM ~1.5s TTK against anyone, no gear required.
Assuming players are of equal skill when paired with a cleric, a Barb is outperformed by every class.
Movespeed is king. Melee damage doesn't means jack if Barbs can't close because they're being outkited and rooted before they're in range to swing.
Now, this is a good class balance argument!
I'm not gonna comment on the entire thing piece by piece, but it definitely seems to suggest that Barb is weaker against other classes, especially Fighter. It might make more sense if Fighter was limited to one-handed weapons, making them more of the tank class instead of the tank AND damage class. I'm not against Fighter having ranged weapons, but the Recurve Bow and Longbow both make Fighter far too strong at ranged combat. The Ranger is supposed to be the king of that.
Pretty much every single post about the strength or shortcomings of any class are based on solo play, which this game is not.
L2P issue
ive never died to a barn on any class
As we can see there, it obviously doesn't take much except for time and using something busted to achieve that.
I guess running around slaying freshies for hours on end will make you complacent or in truth, turn you into a walking Dunning-Kruger and die like a troglodyte.
Chances of running into a group of people on somewhat equal footing in regards to skill are super slim currently but there is boat loads of seals to club.
Chances of running into people also being on equal footing in regards to gear aswell are even slimmer.
Chances of running into people being on equal footing in skill and equipment but no distractions and ready for it, barely even existent.
The leaderboard fame fiending considering the game's state, expecting people to be impressed, is kinda cringe.
At the same time, the devs are rewarding it on their Discord... which surely will attract only people who have the best in mind to better the game's future rather than their own in the age of social media. smh
Barb, sure, due to the changes he was better than in the 1st playtest.
But still pretty trash when not facing a bunch of bonobos while having loads of advantages over them in regards to situation, numbers, skill and gear.
You take one of the best (or the best?) rogue atm for explaining your point? "it obviously doesn't take much" do the same and put it on yt, we will see.
