Source? All news outlets are currently reporting this an "unconfirmed free to play" title. The developers are still working on the model I guess.

Most likely it will be free to play with cosmetic battle pass like all other royale style games?

Actually, the devs haven't decided. This is a quote from their discord.

"How much will the game cost on release?
- This hasn't been decided yet. We are leaning away from the F2P model and will likely have a packaged release on Steam. We will plan to price it accordingly with other similar games on Steam after doing more research."

god F that. please just make it a premium experience so tired of games being ruined by stupid Free model bs.
There are many good games that are F2P with cosmetic only battle passes. Fingers crossed for that. I hate when a game like this double dips by putting a price tag on it ($20 max for this hopefully) and then charging for the passes on top of that too. If they are going to charge for it they better give a token to unlock the battle pass as part of the purchase price.

They're saying ''leaning away from f2p'' meaning they aren't leaning towards it. Read better.
Yes that is correct "leaning away from" means probably not going to be fully F2P but they haven't outright given up on the idea of F2P or they would just say it will be a fully paid game, they are still in the process of investigating what makes sense and how other games have fared.

Once they go through the Steam store more they might reconsider it, lots of dead in the water indie multiplayer only games on there that decided to slap a pricetag on and would later come to regret it. Just need someone on their team to push for it and it could still happen. Some of the games are very high quality and fun to play but without a playerbase to sustain them nobody is going to buy them and with nobody buying them there is no incentive for the dev to work on it.

With a three person squad it's much easier to get your friends into the game by just saying 'hey download this new free title and play with me' and suddenly the game has +3 players. If you are wanting to play it with some friends and they are unwilling to buy it then you might not even buy it yourself which is a loss of 3 potential players immediately.

They just have to do what makes sense to them. Perhaps the "leaning away from" and investigation means that they are going to have a free version available with limitations that you pay an upgrade fee to convert to full version, everyone here is just speculating including the devs as they are still working on the game and need time to think about the way they will monetise it.

Lets be real, "free to play" doesn't mean that they aren't going to make money off it and a lot of the most successful money driven games are free to play titles.

its a Korean Game what do you think? it will go biiiiiiig into microtransactions for sure

For long term support to keep servers up and running they are going to need way more then just the first sale of players. I think cosmetic skins and such that do not offer any in game advantage is the way to go, maybe even DLC for more dungeons. Going by the games peak charts of the play test, if 69,533 bought this game for 20 USD and after steam takes their cut. The devs would only be left with about 973,462 USD. For server cost, paying employees, that money can go quick. The devs have lives to live as well. For Long term I think microtransactions would greatly benefit the game as long as it is nothing pay to win i am fine with support the devs further. This game is a gem, developers now a days do not do it like this. It is all about putting in the least amount of effort and money possible to sell a game and that is coming from AAA devs.

As it has already been mentioned, they are leaning towards a B2P model and away from F2P. They are going to have a cash shop, somewhere in this video it gets talked about and they mention other games they want to build their business model after.

In the most recent dev QnA they said it's not going to be F2P.

Personally, I'd buy a subscription for this game if that means better support for the devs and the games longevity.

microtransactions can be cool, but when they are time limited and u have to grind every month for some battlepass rank even when u don't feel like playing. thats when microtransactions ends up really bad.
