How to to choose the region to download?
No DLC at properties.

I searched "X-Plane 12" though the steam store and it listed all the regions. Selected each and clicked "add to library" and then "Download".

Go to library, click on 'X-Plane 12'. On the right side under the banner is the additional content part. Click on 'View additional content in store' and select the ones you want.

Best way for now is to go to store page, scroll down and select FREE DLC (region you want) - and click download.

I did so with the demo version and had no issues. They are in the Output/Preferences folder under your X-Plane 11 installation. You might be able to bring over your logbook(s) as well, although I haven't tried it yet.
