X-Plane 12

X-Plane 12

Where can I find Xplane 12's version of the AIRAC data without paying for a subscription?
So I've been trying to fly the 737 but I keep running into an issue where I load a flight plan I made in SimBrief and there are waypoints missing. I think this might because the free version of Navigraph, which is what I have, uses AIRAC 2303 (at the moment) and Xplane is on an older version of the data.

What can I do about this? I know Navigraph offfers multiple versions of this data if you subscribe, but I am not really a serious simmer. I have a $60 joystick and only play these types of things a few times a month. I don't really want to pay for a subscription just so I can get a plane that's in a game I already bought to work. What are my alternatives here? I don't care about having the most up to date data. I just want to be able to make flightplans on the data that is currently loaded into Xplane 12. I think it's using AIRAC 2212 at the moment.

perhaps I'm looking at this the wrong way. Are the waypoints really changing every few months? or is there some sort of bug which is causing my flight-routes to get all messed up when I upload them into the FMC?

In the next major XP 12 update XP 12 will be using AIRAC 2306. You would have needed to have an active Navigraph sub at the time of that AIRAC cycle to go back and use it if you don't have a current one.

There can be many changes with the turn of an AIRAC cycle which happens every 28 days. I don't know what AIRAC X-Plane 12 currently has as I'm using a Navigraph Unlimited subscription and I only know that AIRAC 2306 will be shipped with XP 12 next major update because of news. This data is still pretty outdated, it's from June of 2023.

It's worth noting that while hidden it is possible to get navdata only from Navigraph which includes access to up-to-date AIRAC cycles for SimBrief. It's around $40 a year.

I honestly don't really want to have to pay anything just to have access to waypoints that are in the game. Is there any way I can like look at the files in the game and see what waypoints are available? MSFS has this available in the map. I know with XPlane I'll have to do more digging but I don't want to pay for another subscription just to access navigation waypoints that are hardcoded into the game.

There's no way to get updated airac information without paying money. Both in sim and real life. Your best solution is to fill in/replace the missing waypoints/sids/stars.

Edit: Also, if MSFS and XP12 both have the same airac data (not sure if they do currently), then you can take the waypoints from the MSFS map and use them in your flight plan in XP12.

Try this. It allows you to select the AIRAC you wish.
