X-Plane 12 doesn't appear to quit properly (or Steam doesn't detect it)

I don't know why, but whenever I close XP12 (and before XP11) Steam doesn't detect that the program has closed and will think its still running. You can see it by Steam displaying the "STOP" button instead of "PLAY".

Is there any suggestions on how to fix this?

Do you have Navigraph? If so you need to manually close Navigraph Simlink.

Hi, sorry for the late reply! Yes I use Simlink, it appears to start automatically, just doesn't close on its own.

Yeah sometimes it gets stuck and you have to manually close it. After that XP 12 should close itself.

Hello, Ive had this problem before with the game, Even though its not on steam. I do use a MacBook Air for playing it but it does happen sometimes. I know your on windows but if any Mac users are down here then just push F3, Go out of the window, And force quit it.
