Off the top of my head CP2077, Minecraft RTX, Quake2 RTX, Control, Metro Exodus Enhanced, The Ascent, The Riftbreaker, Dying Light 2, Steelrising, Doom Eternal and Shadow of the Tome Raider. There's more that I've not played e.g. Call of Duty, Warzone, Fortnite, etc.

Only reason I upgraded from a 1080Ti FTW3 was RT and that was to a 3080 TUF OC. I'm now enjoying a 4090 TUF.

Call of Duty MW2? Doesn't have RT, disappointingly.

Yeah the 'horseless carriage' was gimmick too, and it scared the horses which we cannot do without. Humans flying? That's crazy talk and God would not approve. My father to me many years ago, 'why do want a computer? what good is it?'. It's really sad to sound like you're 80 years old when you aren't.

No but the og Warzone did, which is what the user said.

Portal. So easy. It's the only game with a full implementation of ray tracing.

Games with raytracing that run well:

AMID EVIL
Forza Horizon 5
Metro Exodus
Control
Fortnite BR (Lumen is a form of open-source raytracing that also works on AMD. It also has a functioning RTX that didnt impact my performance.)
Battlefield 5
DOOM Eternal
Minecraft
Cyberpunk 2077
Spider-Man when it got ported to PC.

Don't let the terribly optimized Portal RTX remake sway you. Idk who at Nvidia was handling this game, but they didn't optimize it for crap and did a sloppy, unprofessional, weak, mediocre job. The team handling PortalRTX definitely are all new rookies.

If you want to fix performance (I get 144 fps on a 3080), press CTRL+X and turn off the new textures/models. The FPS skyrockets, while keeping Raytracing, and fixes the art-style of the game. Best alternative until someone mods it. The new textures/models are bad anyway.

Or, alternatively, put DLSS to Performance or Super Performance. You'll get muddier looks and some pixels, but the game looks perfectly fine still.

Yeah that's the name of the game. Another way to write it would be "Call of Duty: Warzone"

i took a computer science course in graphics and a big component was ray tracing. it isn't a gimmick. you're a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clown if you think it is. theres entire books/research papers done on the topic.

Wow, what an ignorant statement. When I first got my 2080 Super RTX wasn't offered by many games. Two years later and I have an entire library of games that support it and look amazing.

No one is forcing you to buy a ray tracing card and no one is forcing you to play games with ray tracing. I don't understand why you feel the need to bash it.

Because in the words of ignorant people everywhere "change or innovation is just a gimmick" ~ look at any new thing, and you'll see something to this effect. Hell there are things like skin colors, religions, cultures, (on all sides of the globe) etc etc. that have been completely persecuted against for centuries, if not thousands of years, simply for being new, unknown, or different. I will admit, to some extent, it is human nature to fear or be weary of the unknown, but a side effect of this caution is utter disregard for logic or reason in cases where it is needed. Obviously this small piece of technology is very minor to the examples listed above, however it plays into a bigger societal construct about how humans are unwilling to accept change time and time again. In a couple of years, people will view complete RT lighting as a normal feature, just like tessellation, and by then, they won't even remember how many tried to shut it down or ignore it simply for being innovative.

I have dabbled in animation/3D rendering as a hobby for about 14 years. I remember when the Cycles rendering engine for Blender 3D was released it was absolutely game-changing. Being able to go from faking light sources and interactions to using actual path/ray tracing was - and still is - huge. A good artist can definitely produce an image/animation that looks like it was ray traced, but it takes time and technique. Ray tracing takes all of the guesswork out of it and can be done much more quickly.

It's a gimmick and doesn't add much to a game.

But, I've been gaming long enough to know - in 5-10 year's time, every game will have it, it'll be considered "the norm", people will moan when a game doesn't have it, and the graphics hardware will all be powerful enough to do it by default in ultra mode with everything turned on at some ridiculous FPS and nobody will ever care again.

I still don't "get" things like FSAA, MSAA, etc. I think they're pointless and don't add anything to my enjoyment of a game, and they KILLED frame rates when they first came out, you had to turn it off or upgrade your card, all games started using it, etc. etc. etc. Same thing. PhysX, same thing. Even Transform&Lighting when it first came out, HDR, programmable shaders, bump mapping, etc. etc.

I remember having to spend ridiculous amounts of money on a 3D card to play the original GTA and Quake at anything other than 320x240, and they wouldn't work in Windows at first you had to run it from DOS (and running games through Windows was seen as extravagant and needed a far more powerful PC to do the exact same thing).

2032, RTX and/or an associated equivalent open-standard will be the norm, every card will have to support it, every game will use it by default, and even integrated graphics will do it "fast enough" for most things to work, even if they're not particularly playable with it.
If you think anti-aliasing is useless, and HDR, Jesus ♥♥♥♥♥..

just imagine that people who say such things, are simply trolling or trying to get reactions out of people, because there is no way they're actually that ignorant.
Tell yourself that, imagine it, ignore those people.
If you take it seriously, you'll go into deep depression.

that being said, it's obvious just how far we've come with DLSS and FSR, and how we can improve aliasing while also improving performance, it's like having a cake, and eating it, too.
I used to love PhysX when it was still new, playing Mirror's Edge blew my mind and i couldn't imagine disabling that effect, no matter how hard it hit my hardware at the time.
Now, many years later, seeing Ray Tracing and where it's headed, is again, blowing my mind.
I love it, and i will never disable it for any game, ever.
Same with HDR at 4K.
If you set it right for every game that supports it -and it does take time to configure-
then you will notice it, and you won't ever want to turn it off again (if implemented correctly).
It's okay if some don't see those features, as long as you can appreciate it, and enjoy it.

with all of that out of the way, Portal RTX does not look very nice, in spite of being such a heavy hit on performance.
I'm rather disappointed, but then again i never really liked the source engine for a plethora of reasons (i do appreciate the good things it brought to the table, though).

Don't let last gen's hardware convince you, that you know anything about how to optimize games, or what it takes to mathematically compute simulated light from any angle at any time in real time.

what about a 4090 you expert?
there are no excuses to be made here, Portal RTX runs like dogpoop, while also looking like dogpoop.
