Spousal Abuse. Domestic violence. Animal cruelty. Anti-black and Anti-semetic characters. Nazi lunatics. Fat liberals. Fighting in a wheelchair with no handi-ramp in sight.

It's all wrong.

But it feels so right.

The world of Wolfenstein: The New Order and Colussus is grim, evil, and submerged in fanatical genocidal violence. It maybe a complete exaggeration of the world we live in today, and the mentality still held by some narrowminded groups out there today.

But screw it. That's not what Wolfenstein is about. It's about putting all those horrible things in a very non-politically-correct barrel: and blasting it to kingdom come. And in doing so you melt away the stigmas and common exaggerations about what it is to be a hero. Self sacrificing BJ Blazkowicz and his bleak narrations give heart and meaning to each hallway of splattered Nazi scumbags. That's a DIFFICULT thing to do in a genre and a theme so overdone that it is mostly comical.

It's not about a jewish woman getting beaten by her racist american husband, or the racists slurs flung around, or the Nazi cruelty on display, because if you stop to gasp and say "Oh my that's wrong" that's the point, we all know it. The game never condones it, it shoves it in your face and then puts a gun in your hand. Go kill it. Kill the evil. Destroy that frame of mind. And save BJ's family, freedom, and all the great characters on that U-Boat.

It's brilliant. There's no doubt, when it is all said and done, that Wolfenstein 2 should be awarded GOTY honors by just about everyone.
