Brightness is much to high. Rsducing it to 60% is much bether.
Also the game loose a lot color saturation and effects when it switch from ingame cutscene to playable area.
Hopefully we will se a bugfix when the real release go live.
I dont know is it the art style or what but the graphics are beyond atrocious.
How does it look ten times worse than sc2 wings of liberty from 2010?
Its like the art style of overwatch and heroes of the storm had the ugliest offspring imaginable.
And the audio work, especially the infernal voice announcer, is irredeemably bad.
I dearly dearly hope the entirety of video and audio gets completely changed.
In my opinion the ingame models (not the models used in cutscenes) in Starcraft 2 was not bether. But it used more sdhaders for shadows and light effects.
Imo mostly the game has a lack of shadows and effects. Angle the sun, so w get bigger shaes. reduce the brightness on maye 60% and add more effects light muzzle flasshes or light reflections on metal. They could be a lot improvement without changing a model.
But its also important to consider that this is not Blizzard wich can throw hundert million + worldwide marketing into a game, Even they got 40 Million, its still only an AA Budget.
But at the end, the gameplay rocks. And that is the most importent thing. Cause assets are changed much easier then core gameplay mechanics.
Sometimes the game looks awesome when in an ingame Cuscene

Hopefully its a bug that can be fixxed.
In Starcraft 2 you did not had lowsres units or terrain everywhere, just compare the cutscenes of the first mission to Starcraft. Its day and light! Heck in the second mission you literally fight an incredible low texture clay-glossy monster! What ehe hell?! IT NEEDS to change
i agree with the cutscenes. Currently Stormgate use it "Play models" in the Cutszenes which looks bad, at least when the camera is close up. From my understanding, there working on it.
And the Monster in Mission 2 lokks indead massively bad.
Although scam it was a massive graphical improvement, units look amazing especially close-up. There are some minor issues and there is a lack of overview when looking at them from above but that could easily be fixed. I am purely looking at the visuals now cause oh boy does this game needs a visual overhaul.
Maybe if we all, ultimate founder or not, pay 10€ again they'll make it happen :D
And now looks better proportioned than this...
Play the first mission, look at the ingame-cutscene when you reach the villages with the transports. That literally looks like straight up some random mobile ad, Warcraft 3 even looked more proper than that.
It also had mouth movement and animated 3D portraits for everybody, although I hope that is just missing right now on purpose. I currently play Command and Conquer Zero Hour with a mod and even that looks more proper...
Perhaps you dont but I play the games from the past even nowadays and dont talk out of memory or nostalgia
Right now even the UI is worse than Warcraft since items dont have clear descriptions nor show what they add. At a glance I cant see the stats of my hero either. In Warcraft my base damage was in grey and what I got from the item in green, worked well. Here it straight up "changes" the number.
Do you SERIOUSLY think this looks better than Warcraft 3? ABSOLUTE L take.

Compare the vanilla warcraft 3 footman to the Reforged one and tell me it wasn't an improvement, "donate your brain to science one day, bro". The issues with Reforged were elsewhere like some units looking worse namely the nightelf wisp and that from above there was little to let the player have an overview - oh and they deleted half the game but just by models? the details were impressive.
With overview its probably what you meant by style and I agree with that but it could have been changed kind of easily if it wouldn't have been abandonware. Anyway I dont wanna argue about it all I meant is that the models/graphics in Stormgate require a similar drastic visual update.
They built a game that a 13 year old can play on his $500 laptop his parents bought for school. That's the basic philosophy behind graphics for every major F2P games from Fortnite to Valorant. That's basically the reason why and we honestly shouldn't expect stellar graphics from a F2P title.
