Small technical question of an old player

Hi guys,
i' m going to be back to everquest 2 and i was trying the free game with my old account where i still have some characters.Just a question: when i play,it seems like game is lagging all the time.It depends on the loading environments game system or maybe something of the settings?I have tried ultra high quality and high quality but nothing changed.I have a 3080 OC,PC should not be the problem...

The rendering pipeline is not gpu based it is cpu based. What that means is: the cpu is doing most of the graphics while your gpu is only doing the shaders. So, your cpu is causing the lagging most likely. What cpu do you have?

i capped my fps and it did wonders for me. No idea why that worked but I haven't experienced any lag since doing so.

You're probably using the "streaming" client which streams data in the background during gameplay. Open up the EQ2 Launchpad and switch over to the "full" version of the game, which will download and install all game related assets and content. This way it won't keep loading things as you play.
