Where do people hang out in this game now?
I went to Freeport and saw no one, I ran around several zones and saw no one.... The server says medium so I'm guessing there must be a place where they are concentrate in?

This game suffers from too many hubs, so it depends on which server. Traditional probably the high level hub areas, on Varsoon I see more people 6-10 in freeport than in other evil starter hubs cities. Before zones started getting crafting / trading hubs there were guildhalls.
usually people will be in their guildhalls, theres not really much reason to 'hang out' in cities nor are there enough people to justify it like games like warcraft which have dozens of people waiting around for groups or whatever
So does that mean the end game is alive and well, or is it a ghost town?

End game is alive and well, especially some of the popular tlp servers, but live is doing fine too. Most ppl are at the higher level zones and doing the more advanced content, or in their guild halls, and that's only normal after two decades of live service. I always recommend getting into a good and reliable guild if you plan on staying with us a bit longer, as that will make a lot of things much easier.

Welcome and enjoy!
I just gave up, the game is dead and there was only one server that I could see, it had all my characters on it from 2005 so I guess they merged them all. What is the point of having a world if no one uses it? Just remove all the stuff no one cares about and put players together.

my dude, this game is struggling to even have a playerbase, you cant expect this to have huge servers like warcraft's population. get onto your server, ask in the general chat what some of the bigger guilds are, and join them. and by 'bigger' you'll probably be lucky to have one with like more than 20 or 30 unique and active members with their alts. but that should be plenty of people to chat and hang out with.
They should close the game down then, it's just sad and pathetic. If you're not going to try, then don't have it running....

why would they close it down? its still making them enough money to not only keep the servers up, but also enough to fund a new expansion roughly every year for the past 19 years. not many games can really say they are still getting that kind of developer love after that long.

sure theres a lot they can do to make things better, and unfortunatly daybreak probably will never do much to bring more people in, but at least they are giving content to the ones still playing
