For this month's patch, we are continuing work on improving user interface and making further balance changes.

• Added additional UI for showing the path a champion will take when moving. This can be disabled in options if you prefer the original UI.
  
• Fixed an issue that caused the space under the mouse cursor or controller position to not show a highlighted location when a unit was selected.
  
• Fixed an issue that could cause ability activations to not show up in some cases when playing skirmish matches against bots

• Added additional sounds for a few abilities

• The number of runes revealed per turn is now 1 for ranked 1v1 matches
  
• In ranked 1v1 matches, the ability Shrine Scry is now available on Shrines and has the effect of: Your shrine loses 7 HP and one of your runes is revealed. (CD1)
  
• In ranked 1v1 matches, the ability Fortify is now available on Shrines and has the effect of: For 2 turns, all damage dealt to your shrine is prevented. (CD10)
  
• These changes will be added to bot matches and custom matches at a later date (didn't make patch)

Additional balance changes have been deployed to the game. This client patch contains rules and text updates to match those changes as well as other text updates. There are also a couple of new sounds for abilities (thanks again SAForg).

Once again the forces of Wrath have defeated the forces of the protectorate. Protectorate must put up a greater fight to prevent this outcome from happening again.

Drums of War 40 has ended.
Drums of War 41 has begun.
All ranks have been reset.

All players who participated in the Drums of War have been given rewards. These packs can be opened in the Marketplace either on the website or in the game client. Furthermore, the top five players of each faction have received a limited bonus.




In addition, the following changes have been deployed:

* Fixed an issue that would cause a crash when using a unit with the ability Tangle
* Fixed more incorrect text

* Fixed an issue in which the ability Toss Equipment would return equipment to the runedock upon use rather than keeping it in play.
* Train: Arctic Camo changed to: Target friendly champion within 5 spaces permanently gains Arctic Camouflage (When this unit is damaged by a ranged attack while it is occupying Snow or Ice, reduce that damage by 2). This ability costs 2 nora.
* Train: Damage changed to: Target friendly champion within 5 spaces permanently gains +2 DMG. This ability costs 3 nora and does not stack.
* Train: Damage Shield: Magical changed to: Target friendly champion within 5 spaces permanently gains Damage Shield: Magical 3 (When this unit is attacked, if the attack is a close-combat attack, the attacking unit takes 6 Magical damage. This damage ignores DEF). This ability costs 3 Nora.
* Train: Defense changed to: Target friendly champion within 5 spaces permanently gains +1 DEF. This ability costs 2 nora and does not stack.
* Train: Evasive changed to: Target friendly champion within 5 spaces permanently gains 1 rank of Evasive (This unit takes 20% less damage from ranged attacks). This ability costs 3 nora and does not stack.
* Train: Strike changed to: Target friendly champion within 5 spaces permanently gains Strike. This ability costs 3 nora.

Today's patch has some more balance changes as well as additional quality of life items including the restoration of being able to skip cinematics in solo play encounters.

• Restored the ability to skip cinematic cutscenes in campaign encounters. This is available via the button in the lower right or can be activated by holding down B/Circle on your controller.
  
• Suppressed the display of deployment messages when a game starts up and is deploying the intial board state in campaign encounters.

• Added additional high res art for a number of the most used runes in the last month.
  
• Fixed the visual effect for the ability Screech not displaying
  
• Added new sound effects for a couple of abilities (thanks SAForg)

• Fixed a number of places that had incorrect or missing text.
  
• Fixed some abilities that did not show combat log messages for being used or triggered.

This is just a minor client hotfix to adjust text as well as update the animation/fx for a couple of spells. Namely, Pilfered Armory and Ritual of Ashes.

Today's patch is focused around updates to relics, equipment and spells. In addition, there are a number of client enhancements to make play more intuitive and easier to follow.


* The game now shows an indicator when abilities are used above the unit. This will show for activated as well as triggered abilities.
* This functionality can be set to show all, only show activated abilities, or can be disabled in the options screen.

* The tabs for solo play have been reordered for clarity to show Daily first and other campaign types after that.
* There are now buttons for launching directly into Skirmish matches against AI in the Daily tab of the Solo play screen. There are separate buttons for a random skirmish or skirmishes against Protectorate and Wrath. These will use your currently selected deck as per all campaigns.

* Corrected an issue with the positioning of damage numbers for various units
* Sped up the effect of the spell Superiority so that it shows the animation on all units simultaneously
* Sped up the effect of Wings of Steel so that it shows the animation on all units simultaneously

* Fixed an issue in which various combat logs would show the name of the player rather than the name of the unit


* Adjusted the threshold in which the server uses loose matchmaking so that more fair matchmaking should occur at lower population numbers

* Attempted more fixes for the ability Pounce
* Fixed Keg Toss so that it correctly hits stealthed units

In today's patch, we have restored 2v2 group functionality, made additional UI improvements, and have included a set of balance changes. Please look forward to a much larger balance patch coming soon and welcome to 2025!

• Clicking on a player in the user list now allows you to see information about the player including their rank, team rank, and current status
  
• If the player is in a game, you can now click on the Observe button to directly load into observing that game

• 2v2 group functionality has been restored. This allows you to form groups which can then be used to queue into 2v2 ranked matches so that you are playing as a team
  
• You can invite other players using the player view functionality in the chat user list which will show a button for inviting the user to a group
  
• You can also invite players using the chat command /group invite <playername>
  
• You can leave your group using the button to leave which shows when on the group tab or by using the chat command /group leave

• Fixed an issue which could cause the game to lock up or crash on encounter 3 of The Angels Descend

• Improved the display of the tutorial/training screen
  
• Added more high res rune art

This is just a small client hotfix to correct a couple of issues.

• Fixed a longstanding issue in which the ignore chat functionality was not working. You can now correctly add and remove users from your ignore list. This functionality can be used with the following commands in chat:
  /ignore add <user> - adds a user to your ignore list
  /ignore remove <user> - removes a user from your ignore list
  /ignore - shows who is currently on your ignore list
