how do I use?

You manually use it. Set it up and use it for certain recipes. It can not be automated
paydirt -> gold ore
ruby ore -> rubies
diamond ore -> diamonds
blasted rock? -> cement

If you use the large wash plant in line with your hoppers etc then the pay dirt will auto sort gold ore and gem ore, u can then use the small wash plant to extract the gems from the ore, using it for gold is a waste as the large one will do that for u.
