more staff
this game sold relativity well at a mid price.....if you dont want to be considered shovel ware in the next 6 months due your due diligence and hire more and exceedingly experienced staff....at a certain point the novelty of it being a small dev team creating something great wears off....early access is meant to grow both the game and the team with the money gained from sales....

So how many copies have they sold?

lets just make a extremely rough estimation, lets say the game has at total sold 30k copies, and lets assume they all cost 14 euro, thats 420k euro, teh game released almost 2 years ago, so thats 420k spread out over 2 years, and thats also not counting Steams cut, which is 30% of the 420k, then we have to consider tax where he lives as well, which cuts in to the profits even further, assuming these numbers is correct, what he actually got would, again, very rough estimation, be somewhere in the 150-200k range, he is doing this full time and has 1 additional developer working full time, and a 3rd doing part time, i dont know what he is paying them, but if its anywhere near annual average income of coders in scandinavia where he is based, then a rough low estimate puts his full time guy at 42k eur annualy, lets just make a assumption that the part timer gets 20% of that in pay, thats a total of roughly 55k he spends annualy on staff, so he is not exactly rolling in cash, assuming these numbers is even remotely true, even just 1 more full time coder would essentially blow away all his earnings over the past 2 years and put him in the red.
and the DLC he released is to cheap with far to low sales to allow him enough overhead to get even just 1 more person on the team.

Did you know this game isn't even listed as "Early Access" and is considered fully released on Steam.

Just further cements your argument and point.

Dosn't sound like you know anything about the economics of running a company or developing a game full time.

How many did he sell? "Sold relativly well" is not a number. so making such a shallow argument, for taking on the responsibility of hiring another employee seems crazy.

I'm a bit late to this discussion, but I still wanted to give my 5 cents.

I refer the OP to the latest newsbrief from last Friday (13 Sep. 2024), or any update news for that matter. You can really see that this dev-team (5 now btw) actually wants to interact with the community. They lissen, tweak and re-tweak aspects of this game that the community asks for.

It still always amazes me that people just leave a negative comment, review, or in this case a community post, without actually looking into the active development state of the game. Just because they didn't like one aspect of the game or how fast this game is growing and being developed.

Furthermore, I think that if you only put in 13 hours (playtime of OP as of writing this comment) you have no real sustenance for complaining about the state of the development or the size of the crew. I like where things are headed and I've joined this community not that long ago. I am very optimistic about the future of the game.

I've even made a couple of posts on this forum, joining the discussion, the discord, making suggestions, reporting bugs, watching YT videos and streams of just people enjoying the game.

To close out my little rant, I hope the OP and other skeptical gamers out there start to appreciate the amazing steps this dev team makes to keep the community happy. The current state of AAA game studios is bad enough as it is, don't rattle the small ones too.
