Tunnel mining & the accidental spills.

Heyo!

I was wanting to find out more about the spillage of materal that happens when tunneling. i have conveyors "tracks" in place, but every now and then the material coming out of my tunneler does not get picked up by the conveyor, and starts building a pile of material behind me, having to stop tunneling to clean the mess up is becoming a bit of a hassle.

ive tried over head ceiling supports, TNT'ing the conveyors to remove any dirt below that might be high enough for my materal to spawn onto. seems to happen randomly, i cant verify if it happens when tunnels collapse at the same time im dumping materal. If anyone has up to date tricks and info for tunnel mining please let me know. everything ive found online seems outdated by a year or more.

use the biggest loader you can get in the game. choose a face too start a entrance that can fit that loader into just the start of the loader not the whole loader going underground

with the portal entrance being the same size as the loader you won't have ceiling collapses or just seal in the roof with wire mesh

Easiest way to tunnel is to use multiple conveyor hoppers. literally get a container, get your conveyors to the start of where you want to tunnel, and snap a hopper to it so it spawns underground, sucks in all material with zero mess and your material goes straight to your container
