out of ore how to paint your truck and other things as its not working for me.

What exactly doesn't work? You buy paint, enter the vehicle, open the Inventory. Choose the "Equipment" tab on the right panel (car inventory), remove the car's paint, replace it with your new paint

It's when I try to do the paint it doesn't change colour for me.

Drag the current machine color paint can to your inventory, then place the desired color can from your inventory to the spot the machine color paint can was.
