conveyor direction

It is a struggle to get conveyor belts placed in correct direction and position any advice?

i plop down a floor piece to set the first piece on, 3rd person view helps to see better, and the straight conveyor got an arrow in the direction its moving, my problem is the hopper wich i usaly start with and wich i sometimes need to replace caus the exit is not in the direction i want it.

you can rotate it before placing, but yes the hopper is sometimes a pain because there inst an arrow indicating direction on it

stand on the one you want to connect to and look at the end it goes at then clk

i dont use hoppers, i just use straight conveyers in place of hoppers. when im building a conveyer to dump into the coal plant or into an exsisting wash plant, i start at the end by using the 2x2x2 "foundations" to get the two separate systems sqaured and work backwards making sure i rotate the dumping conveyer correctly. if sorter/trommel dont want to cooperate in the snap points then i just keep going so i got an idea where the conveyers/plant parts are going to be so i reverse my process (beginning ---> end instead of end ---> beginning). this method can take some serious fennagling if stuff doesnt want to cooperate, but ive found most the times the blocks do cooperate

Ok i figured out-when placing a new line of conveyor belts start by placing concrete blocks infront back and sides where u want the new line then the direction issue is much easier to resolve
