Demo won't start on Steam Deck

I'd love to try the demo but unfortunately it crashes immediately on Steam Deck before even opening. Tried with Proton Experimental and GE, neither worked.

they bleed pixels?

I get major 'they bleed pixels' vibes from this. Are these the (or some of the) same guys? And please tell me this game isn't as hard as they bleed pixels. SMB/Celeste/etc. were not a problem for me. TBP was a nightmare.
