This game is pretty weak compared to Diablo 3...

I'm glad I got this game and let me preface this by saying that Diablo 3 has a lot of problems obviously. The auction house, the always-online system, the repetitive levels...

Besides that, you have to admit that as a piece of work, Diablo 3 is about 10x bigger and better than Torchlight 2. The graphics look really nice while still being fairly easy to run. The combat feels GREAT. The animations are top notch. When the screen gets filled with baddies in Diablo 3 and procs are going off every where, it is a thing of beauty.

And because it's Diablo (aka the Real thing, like Coca-Cola) it's much more exciting when you improve your character in everything.

In torchlight 2, sure they got some game features better than Diablo 3, but I don't feel any real desire to make my character badass because its not DIABLO, its a wannabe...

In Diablo you want to make your character badass because Diablo is the real game, the real franchise that people care about.... and everything just feels so much more polished and like its higher-level programming in Diablo, compred to Torchlight which feels like it was made with Magic Game Maker Studio 10 or whatever... (relatively speaking...)

Completely opposite for me - I want good loot to be hard to find. In Torchlight 2 everytime you play you find something new - this is fun for kids but not hardcore gamers.

Diablo 3 and Path of Exile are much more my style, you have to grind a lot more to get good stuff. Especially in PoE.

About the graphic engine, have you ever played D2 and WOW? To me, it's a kind of mixture of them. Just enjoy this game as it is~~!!! Once you get addicted, D3 will be out of your mind. Good luck to you~~!!!

194 hrs and I have yet to get bored of Torchlight 2. D3 got bored pretty quick but kept playing because a couple friends liked it. Now with mods my TL2 feels more like D2 yet still its own game, and now none of my friends play D3, all on TL2. It'll be a while before Im done too with the mod that puts NG+ to 11 and the level cap to 500, also running Synergies. Best ARPG.

The only thing that's better in Diablo III is the graphics. I really enjoyed the ragdoll effects when the enemies got killed. Other than that torchlight II is better in every way.

Also pets are more useful in torchlight II than humans in Diablo III. That is just sad in my opinion.

Yeah, the interesting thing is the o.p. is bashing Torchlight and then wondering why people are offended.

Technically speaking, whether a game is 'better' or 'worse' than another game is an individual opinion, not a 'fact.'

I never played Diablo 3 and have no interest in playing it, so I can't agree or disagree with the o.p. I can say I've enjoyed Torchlight II and will continue to enjoy playing it in the future.

I'd also question why the o.p. or anyone feels a need to bash a game others enjoy. There are plenty of 'popular' games I don't enjoy, but I don't feel the need to start a thread everytime I buy a game and don't like it to bash the game.

Well believe it or not the "indie company" is actually made up of people from the old Blizzard North group. They were the ones behind Diablo 1 & 2. Not that dredge that Jay F. U. Wilson was behind. Don't get me wrong I liked D3 except for the looting and crafting capabilities (never a useful drop or crafted item for my class) & the AH was a PITA with everything costing way too much gold.
