Did someone play as wand outlander?
Any suggestions?

I have yet to run a Wand Outlander that actually attacks with the Wand and doesn't just hold a Wand while using Skills to deal damage.

https://tidbi.ru/eng/outlander.php

What I can say is that many of the shot skills are unavailable for Wands.

The only offensive skills that can be used by Wands directly are:

= = =

Long Range Mastery

Poison Burst

Master of the Elements

Shadowling Ammo

Death Ritual

= = =

Other offensive skills rely on "Daggers", "Glaives", or "Utility" to deal damage.

I wish Runic had actually made Daggers, Glaives, and Hatchets actual weapons rather than skill animations.

but isnt whole point of wand - to autoattack with master of elements on low lvls and to be damage buffer (with poison damage) for elementary skills on high?

Actually - is there any difference on high levels: get wand or get any other one-handed weapon with 100% poison damage?

All I can say is that I have no idea if Wand Chaos is "optimal" (it probably isn't) but I love using it.

good stuff

In that case, "Poison Burst" and "Master of the Elements" would be good for any "Poison" weapon at any level.

Otherwise, all the other Outlander skills rely on other things besides auto attacking without a ranged weapon that isn't a bow or gun (but no Cannon).

"Wand Chaos" (Embermage) is fun if the player doesn't mind the chance that foes will randomly appear at another location which is usually the deciding factor when choosing it.

dunno what "wand chaos" is, but if you are talkin about dual-wand build - I, personally, prefer builds with shields, for mages (coz found staff-based embermage useless)

by the way. Im on lvl 20 and I get like +1-2 damage per 5 magic points and like +3 damage to glave per skillpoint. Is it normal? (I've uninstalled LAO2, for this loadout, and found, that I have no experience with vanilla game at all :D)

one thing, I've found recently: looks like outlander's mage skills (e.g poison and glaves) ARENT affected by wand's poison damage and equipment's +% poison damage - only by focus and master of elements. Can someone else confirm this?

Embermage passive that adds random effects to wand attacks.

It'll ramp up higher with more levels.

Glaive Throw doesn't use weapon DPS, but the +% poison damage effect will work. Poison Burst will use both. Neither will be reflected in skill tooltips but in actual damage dealt to targets.

I only mentioned Wand Chaos because I completely misread the original post, sorry.

I never tried using wands much as an Outlander, but I hope it works out for you.

hmmm, weird. Checked its description with and without +8% to poison damage ring. Same value

ah, I see now. Thats ever more weird :D

So, again: I will get boost in damage by +%Poison Damage & +Posion Damage & +Master of Elements, but weapon's poison damage wont affect my skills, right?

+Poison Damage just adds to the weapon so only weapon skills would use that, like Poison Burst.

+%Poison Damage is a bonus to any poison damage dealt by any means.

I had my outlander with dual wands for awhile, I eventually got two pistols with better stats otherwise i would have kept the wand setup - have yet to find a good epic pair of wands but have looked at some rare ones - stil dont beat my pistols stats.
The wand setup was slower but I thought it was more powerful over the bow, shotgun or pistol and I liked the dual wand it was an unususal setup and lots of fun.

Nothing is more powerful for an Outlander than wielding a shotgonne and using the shotgonne mastery passive...
