Do you guys use the charge?

Been streaming this game for the past couple days and I feel like I'm underutilising the charge attack. It seems to one-shot basic enemies, so as a rule of thumb I've been trying to use it as an "AoE chainsword attack" of sorts, but I still feel like there's gotta be more to it than that. How have you guys been using it? Game's been good fun. :)

It seems on the highest difficulty, certain basic enemies require additional shots from the Bolter, where as the tackle still one-shots them. In particular, the blue chaos demons that rush at you tend to clump up and can be tackles to kill them all in one go. Perhaps I'm supposed to tackle the weak enemies, and save the chainsword for the proper one-on-one encounters.

Yeah, after replaying through missions on the hardest difficulty I can definitely see the value in just rushing through groups of weaker enemies while on the move. I saw a game tip about using the chainsaw on enemies that are wounded since they won't be able to attack you, and I'm now trying to see if that means if I can stagger enemies with the charge to combo into a chainsaw kill etc.

Use it to boost jump, can go extremely far.

I mostly use it for fun. You can keep holding the trigger for a smoother transition, but it serves no essential purpose from what I've found.

If you see weaker enemies grouped together, use Charge attack to kill them all in one go. You can also use the Charge attack then jump at the end to extend your jump distance. This can help when exploring for items and secrets.

I guess I missed or forgot the tutorial on the charge attack. Whenever I use it I just run up to the enemy and stop. Is there something else to it?

I tried using it midair, which didn't work so I left it at that. Didn't considering using it on the ground and then jumping during the momentum. Interesting!

I use it to get out of tricky situation. I am playing chapter 3 on exterminatus right now. And i use it a lot more often then before. I love this game :)

I mostly used it for Speedruns, though it's definitely got its uses - against Nurglings especially.
