Hello everyone,
some of you may already know there's three of us (Daniel, Liam, and Devon) working at Crab Armour Games (a company we setup ourselves), and that we're all university students in our final year of studies.

We developed Eternal for our self-directed work placement as part of the Computer Games Programming and Computer Games Design courses we're studying. Releasing Eternal on Steam and showcasing it at the 68th Insomnia Gaming Festival in 2022 was a voluntary decision we all wanted to pursue, and are very happy and fortunate to have done so.

We've had a lot of fun working on Eternal and we're excited to see where we can take it going forward. However, we hope everyone will understand, we've decided to postpone developing Eternal any further until we finish our studies in June 2023, because of the increased workload and extra attention required during the final 6 months of our studies.

thank you all very much for supporting us in Early Access, it means a lot to us :)
We've been working to fix a number of annoying little bugs and glitches in the game to help improve the user experience.

Our main focus was set on fixing bugs relating to checkpoints and visuals, however, we also fixed a number of other things and made some minor changes, all of which are documented below.

• The player can now walk around when using a consumable item.
  
• The teleport menu is now automatically closed when the player leaves the vicinity of a checkpoint.
  
• The player must now close the 'item acquired' prompt before interacting with anything new.

• Fixed checkpoints not saving the player's progress correctly.
  
• Fixed the player spawning at the wrong location when loading a saved game or respawning.
  
• Fixed a file sharing violation issue when loading saved data about the activated checkpoints.
  
• Fixed additional checkpoints being spawned in when loading the game.
  
• Fixed the player potentially spawning outside the map.
  
• Fixed the max stack count for consumable items not increasing when activating a new checkpoint.
  
• Fixed the player respawning with their collected points.
  
• Fixed one time use items being disabled before they're used.
  
• Fixed a case where enemies were told to walk to an unreachable position, causing them to stand still (other bugs like this still exist).
  
• Fixed equipment slots not displaying the correct stack size for their contained item.
  
• Fixed incorrect prompts being shown when interacting with checkpoints.
  
• Fixed prompts showing on screen after the player has died.
  
• Fixed assets suddenly popping into across all levels.
  
• Fixed cursor not always disappearing when closing a menu by pressing escape.

• Reduced how much data is saved into the player's save file.
  
• Optimised asset placement in dungeon level.
  
• Optimisations to navigation mesh and occlusion.
