Realm of the Mad God Server Issue and Status

Hey guys, in this discussion, I'll be talking about why the ROTMG servers are down, and when they will be up. The ROTMG servers are run on Google App Engine. This means everything you do is sent to Google and saved. That's why you can't mod or hack health, items, stats, etc.

Everything is server sided. That includes characters. A problem with Google App Engine has been causing characters to be deleted. Kabam is currently working to fix this problem. They stated that they have discovered the problem here. http://community.kabam.com/forums/announcement.php?f=1089
They said that they have found the data for all lost character and will be able to restore them. The servers will most likely be up by the end of the day. I will post here when the server are back up so subscribe to this discussion.

I'm afraid I'm having an issue with the servers, when I start up th game it says that maintenance is required and I must migrate my account, I'll click OK and then nothing will happen at all, no matter how much I wait, is there any kind of fix to this?

I honestly don't know. When I had to migrate my account I just hit okay and it worked. You should email support or something.

Well... it sounds like you need to have your Steam client open to play. If that doesn't work then reinstall.
