Should I spend real money?

That's the thing, I don't know if the game is going to be alive for a long time since it's kinda old. So what do you think, should I do it?

the game probably will still be alive for a while.
and being old doesnt mean anything. WoW is ancient and its still being played.
and another thing for why it probably wont die for a while, there is no other permadeath bullethell MMORPG out there. and some people have very specific cravings.

Both yes and no. But, allow me to try explaining this a bit more, Pape.

There a lot of things in this game that you can purchase that will disappear right as you die. But there are a few items in the game that you can buy that'll stick through with you permanently.

The game's popularity is nothing to worry about. It's going to live for a good long while.

Now let me explain a bit further into the buying aspect.

If you wanna waste your money on gear, forget it. You are completely and utterly wasting cash.
But why?
Gear is something that you'll find plenty of. And they're pretty cheap. Once you reach 20 and have a proper pot-farming character (AKA: DPS), you'll find pots with ease in the godlands. These can be used to trade for good gear or other things. Gear 1-8 is stupid easy to find. 9 10 11 12 is more difficult.
Likewise with ability items, 1-3 is easy, 4 5 6 are more difficult.

If you wanna waste your money on pet eggs, forget it. You are completely and utterly wasting cash.
But why?
Now, I haven't bought any pet eggs, but unless they max the current pet's stats or let you max it to the extent that a normal egg of it's tier would allow, then you're just hurting yourself and getting it for the cosmetic.. A bad reason to have a pet in the first place.

But why?
While it might make the process of leveling your pet up much less tedious, you have to keep in mind that a lot of high tier items and pots make great pet-food. Not only that but when feeding pets you'll be using fame or gold and while gold seems cheaper, it'll add up. You just need to play the game to get that fame. Fame is the game's way of saying "Cheer up, I know dying sucks but I'm gonna reward you for doing so." You'll ultimately have less fun. Don't bother with gold whatsoever when dealing with pets.

If you wanna waste your money on clothes... Go ahead! But try to only do it when there's deals.
Cool! But why?
Well, you'll still lose the clothes you dyed if you die but they're pretty cheap for the most part and can make your character look really cool, or theme it together with your pet.

If you wanna waste your money on character slots... DO IT. Try to get a deal if you can though.
Sweet! But why?
They get expensive and you wanna get the most out of your hard earned gold. They'll reach prices up to 1k which is 10 bucks. With proper deals you could get 1 character slot, a chest, and perhaps a potion for loot or something. it depends. Either way, these are PERMANENT UPGRADES TO YOUR ACCOUNT and you'll find them to be VERY HANDY to switch between the characters you want. Not only will it make the game easier with your handy characters. It'll make it more FUN having to not stick with a single character.

If you wanna waste your money on chest slots... Go ahead! But only if you can get them in bulk.
Coolio! But why?
Chests and Character slots. These are really important in the game... Like really really important. They're both PERMANENT UPGRADES. They make the game EASIER and they allow you to have MORE FUN. Now how does chests make the game more fun for you. Well, what I like to do is pick up high tier items such as a tier 11 armor or T5 ability item and store it away, even if it's not my class. I can then choose to play as those particular classes later or trade them away for whatever class I get into next. Not only that but you can store pots in them as well, allowing you to apply all the pots at once to max a stat rather then drinkings as you go, which will lead to death eventually anyways.

If you wanna waste your money on mystery chests... Do whatever you want.
Huh? Why's that?
They're a mystery. You might get stuff completely and utterly worth your cash or you might get ♥♥♥♥.
Hit or miss.

If you wanna waste your money on potions... NEVER EVER EVER VEVEVERVER VER.
OH GOD WHY?!
You will burn through these insanely quick. 5 gold might not seem so bad at first but it adds up. Would you buy a fry at a fast food restaurant by itself? No you wanna buy that ♥♥♥♥ in bulk otherwise it's a waste of your money. If Kabam made the potions cost 5 gold for 6 or 1 gold for 1 potion, it'd be much better and I'd seriously consider wasting gold on pots then.

@above:
you put up some good points, let me give some comments to them:

• yes. never buy gear. ever. but if you absolutely MUST buy them for some reason though, dont use the ingame market. buy pots on a random pot selling site or buy TF2 keys and trade those for whatever you want. its cheaper.
  
• yes. dont buy pet eggs. same as above, if you want them, just buy stuff and trade, its cheaper. also, the egg you get still has random stats no matter if you buy or not, so you could end up with a horrible, horrible pet after buying an expensive egg.
  
• not quite. in some other thread I calculated feeding costs both with gold and with fame. if you want I can dig that out, but I will give a quick summary:
  if you use the best free feeding item (tome of holy potection) and make a maxed divine pet by just feeding it with that, the total cost added up is about 1.25 million fame. which is insanely much. and gold cost (with best bought feeding items for each situation) is about 4700$.
  if you want a maxed uncommon, thats easy without paying. if you want a maxed legendary, be prepared to farm for months or spend money.
  
• I wouldnt buy cosmetics except skins for the same reason why not to get gear.
  
• this is the BEST thing to buy.
  
• chest slots are nice, but if you dont mind using mules, you wont need them.
  
• I wouldnt bother with them. but thats just me.
  
• I assume you mean the health/mana potions, not stat potions. if yes, OH MY GOD DONT EVEN CONSIDER BUYING THEM.

Thanks for the extended input on my response, and yes I ment normal potions as STAT potions are not available to be bought within the game.
... Which is surprising to me because Kabam is already so pay 2 win and with the perma-death, they can get away with it even further.

Thanks a lot for this! it really helped me , I was actually planning to look what were the permanent stuff i could buy, too bad the awesome equipment disappears after death.

I think i'll get the "+character slot" and a chest slot. But what do you mean by "Proper deals", should I wait until there's a limited sale that includes both of them?

just any pack with them in it is good. the double up package for example has 2 char slots. but the deals are most of the time not overly good as long as you still have that first char slot discount.
and if you can still get it, the starter pack is amazing.

you can only get the starter pack if your account isnt too old. but I heard sometimes if you contact support, they can still get it for you (for the normal price of course).

You are more then capable of saving the backpack, just store it until your character maxes any of it's health stats such as DEF, HP, or VIT. From there you can toss it on. The backpack expansion is okay. I mean it's not really great but it's handy from time to time. I like to put loots in the second (backpack pouch) while the first pouch is for items that can be used, special pots, powders, etc.
