Swatsec hacked it!
You can see it on http://www.realmofthemadgod.com. He stole the sourcecode, all user data, everything about ROTMG and is selling it for over 1k$. We just can hope, that Kabam has some offline backup or something similar and is able to get the pages back and stop Swatsec. So don't download any Flash Player. It won't solve the issue.

Swatsec also hacked the Twitter account.
UPDATE -> The Twitter account turned back to normal! The name is the old one and the tweets made by him are deleted!

If you have any web accounts, I would recommend changing passwords as soon as the game is available again. You Steam account should be safe, as Steam doesn't send your password to the game servers you play on. Only accounts created at realmofthemadgod.com or possible Kabam's page can be vulnerable from an attack like this.

That's another thing that Steam doesn't send to the game server. Instead, they receive a message from the game that says you want to buy this for this price, Steam handles your payment and then sends a message back to the game saying that the payment is good.

The Website is back up. They still have no ETA but they are working and got the Website back and i think this is good! :) I'm happy to play Relam soon :)

It occurred to me, too, but there's no garantee that Kabam would actually refund that buyer's money, and who's to say the buyer wouldn't keep it for themselves and auction it off at an even higher price?

There's more going on here, or this hacker is a serious troll. $1K? Chump change (not that I make it, I'd love $1K). And this is a game that has some pretty crappy reviews here on Steam (in fact, I think mine is the only positive, and it's more of a back-handed compliment at best).

I just hope some white-hat brings the black-hat to justice, Anonymous-style.

Any "hacking" offense should have a minimum of 20 years jail-time plus a government issued twenty-five thousand dollar reward for information leading to an arrest :) That'd probably stop some of these pimple-faced idiots from wasting our (and their own) time.

There is no exact point. When the secure breach is fully closed and passed some tests, they will restart them. But untill then we all have to wait :(

. . . I don't think you realize just how much of a troll this guy is. Can you play ROTMG right now? No. Whose fault is that? His. Or hers. Whoever this troll is, s/he wants money, it seems, and has a very limited scope of intentions. S/he just wants to piss people off. If Kabam somehow cried uncle and left us all out to dry, s/he would be laughing his/her ass off and wouldn't put it back online; or, if s/he did, it'd be full of so much malicious code it'd be rendered unplayable within hours due to everyone complaining about their systems and credit cards being hacked.

I don't know much about the history of ROTMG; I started playing during the Steam Holiday 2013 sale, so I wasn't affected by the first time this troll got in, but the buddies I'm friends with here on Steam now were playing back then, and were affected by this troll's first attack.

There are far, FAR better ways -- LEGAL ways -- to attempt to get this game from Kabam. As it is, KAbam still HAS the game; they've reassured us that everything up to a certain point had been saved on separate servers and that's what they're going to reestablish once the security concern has been dealt with. If someone wanted to buy the game from Kabam, that's an entirely possible scenario. I don't know if anyone reading this thread ever played City of Heroes, but that is one option.

the first time s/he hacked rotmg it was just funny. my friend was the first one to notice and the first to get stuff from it and die from it.
the coolest part was what s/he did acualy improved the game.
