i was thinking in that, in fact i guess this could be the stats that need a litlle boost:
Def:30 , like you say, to equilibrate his slow movement
Dex:50 , otherwise, he will be left behind for the warrior

i thougth about that, and to compensate that disadvantage here are some modifications:
1- since T2 , the Scrolls will have the extra ability of "slowing" so you can aim better
2-soulbound it's about 18% of the total life of an enemy, so you only uses the ability to get soulbound for hard-to-aproach enemies
3-the scroll has a low cost in mana, so you can keep spamming it
you should take in count that the samurai has the advantage of higher rank than a melee class and higher def than a leather armor user, so he can get more close and personal with the enemy and take full use of the katana's piercing ability
