in rotmg there is no paywall, you and your friends can team up and get ANY UT item and UT items are the best and most rare in the game and while shatters and LH keys can be bought, only large discord servers are the ones perpetually buying LH keys because of their servers revenue or maybe a rich member or donator or something but it is this kind of economy that keeps the servers running which allows the game to be free in the first place. without the pet system people wouldnt have induvidally spent thousands on divine keeping the servers pristine

Character slots and vault slots have been free to unlock during events in the past and there are free tokens to build up to it as well without even using calendar. if you want to support the game complete calendar or pay

This game is definitely not pay to win. pay to win means you have an advantage over f2p players, which doesnt really exist in this game as loot drops are just based on chance, and seeing as you can quite easily get a max legendary pet with fame, and every item drops in the game practically, aside from new ST's which will drop sooner or later.

im going to base my argument on the solid fact that ANYBODY can do low level dungeons with me but they choose not to and not die in them but ANYONE can get popped in shatters at any point and its fair game (same for like void/marble battle and lost halls even) shotguns have really been a ♥♥♥♥♥ pet or no pet. rarely anyone gets chopped down bit by bit with a team of 6 f2p priests

It's definitely play to win, no doubt about that.
You can directly purchase level up potions, a maxed pet, insanely good items, and slots/chests to hoard the loot you get. Not even mentioning boosters.

But there is alot of stuff that's given away for free, such as the occasional vault or character slot, but the game is definitely pay to win

no you cant, you can spend as much money on the game as you want and still be terrible. A divine pet doesnt make you good. level up potions in no way give you an advantage over other players it just increases your qol so you dont have to level. You also cant buy insanely good items, no items that you can wear that are sold in the nexus are insanely good, they are also all dropped in game. Having more character slots and chests improves your QoL but in no way affects you as a player. How you have so many hours in this game and still think that its pay to win baffles me. And to adress your point on increasing loot drop chance, you can get clovers by playing the game by doing quests, ive never bought a clover and i have over 90. so its not really a pay to win game, its a pay to increase your QoL as its a pain if you only have one chest etc but its definitely not required.

Pay to win means that we have an obvious advantage to not dying because a crud of money has been dropped. the point of attaching the items to currency is to make a supply and demand. Note how t9+ weapons and armor are worth ZILCH but they go for 8+ IRL dollars in the store. this is just an example because for noobs these items seem impossible to get with level 1 stats.

a noob has the same possible reaction to run away from a shotgun as a pro does to run into it. it is insanely hard to get over 1000k hp and pros only have nightmares of times they got wiped, making them more prepared. I am a prepared (almost) free to play noob. I have a good pet from playing on and off and I got free char and vault slots.

but due to the leveling system you only need to record how much max hp youre getting and check how many potions you are from max more hp is more survivability and less work for life max and life can basically max any other stat of yours when you sell for vit or wis or def/atk if you get good rates. I joined a LH disc a year ago and that was all my fame needs. I got inactive and left but LH supplies mana and life and T10+ items for your level 1 guildsmates. the discords are incredibly easy to get in to if you prepare to verify with someone beforehand. noobs always will be having an uprising due to how easy it is to get a white star and die

Looking at my main account which WAS 100% f2p (I recently bought the legendary pet yard because I just gave up with the fame bs) buying a legendary pet is basically "pay to skip 5 years" because my acc is 5 and a half years old... ofc I wasn't playing all day over those years because you just have to take long breakers of this game if you have nowhere to store items and 1 character. Obviously a pve game will never be p2w tho but the prices are very sad for what the game is actually. Servers are horrible these days and exalt is just a big mess so far. Disconnections from left to the right. May I remind you that you can pay to open dungeons and you can dc out of it and waste money for literally nothing? Thats not good my man. Pretty sure thats illegal somewhere. I think spending fame as gold could be a thing under deca but for that they would probably do a full wipe because some ppl have so much fame by now they could just open dungeons 24/7... but a wipe is pretty much illegal again.

Im not talking about having a bad character and dying in a dungeon you open but losing connection to the server after you open a dungeon. Today, everytime I reached davy the boss in the dungeon, the server always crashed. 3 times in oryx the game gave me some "account already existing" error and I don't even know how many other random stuff happen in the game. I can not even connect the main trade server uss something anymore. Also the arena is not in the exalt version for some reason... kinda dissapointing. If flash is done I really hope they fix this game because it ain't going in the right direction. Skins are getting into the game like each week and fixes don't.
