I'd personally recommend buying backpacks if you don't die too often and you won't lose characters with them.
Pets are better to feed with fame up until legendary tier, then it's probably easier to use gold to feed them legendary and divine.
Out of curiosity, is a freshly hatched Pet Egg (Rare) = a Fused Pet (rare) or is one stronger than the other
As for spending gold, I'd say buying a rare humanoid would be a great help, it would most likely give you a pet with 50 heal, which makes quite a difference compared to no pet.
Ahic so the Humanoid family is ideal. Are they the best Family?
I read that in order to hatch rares you need to upgrade your Pet Area. Is it ideal to use Gold for this or ???
It's not really that Humanoid is the best family, but it has the highest chance to give you heal as the first ability, once you have that, you can take to collecting and hatching every egg you come across, until you get exactly the abilities you want (heal/mheal , with electric as the favored third, but not mendatory).
At least that's what I did, then I made use of that rare humanoid pet by changing its family with a stone and fusing it with the good pet I finally found...although you need some good luck with event chests to get that part right....
So yeah, if you don't plan on spending too much money, it's probably best to buy the first 2 pet yard upgrades with fame...who knows? You might even find a great pet in the time that takes you, and wont have to buy one.
