Something tells me you'll be forced to make choices to kill/abandon/leave for dead one kid in favor of another. So she'll probably be able to get to the end of the game, but at the cost of another just to make you feel bad. That's my guess. But supposedly this game is supposed to be a trilogy (Really disappointed when I heard that... I'd rather a trilogy of Solatorobo as that game's world is much more interesting and its characters are way better) and because of this, it leads me to believe there's going to be some way for the kids to all carry on to the next game (that or everyone fcking dies just for the feels and a new cast is written in the 3rd game just because.)

Right. If not for this OP I was about to talk about it myself. I've looked at the video on here and twitter. A story about revenge, you can see the sadness resonate from the other characters. And lastly, no Hanna in gameplay anywhere... rip Hanna...
