DLAA looks a lot better than UE's TAA. It's so even with upscaling versus "native" TAA (there's really no such thing as native resolution TAA, but that's not the point).
For me, I play the game on a tv distanced 10ft from me, so that blurry mess doesn't bother me really. However, if I'd play on a decent computer monitor it is a significant factor.
Either way, the complaint is that they had to do literally nothing to keep the support in. They put in engineering work to remove the support for it, which is dubious. 100% valid complaint in my opinion.
