local coop, split screen, mk + controller

I was intrested in buying this game to play with my Gf but we only have 1 controller. Is it possible to play split screen on 1 PC using Keyboard and mouse for 1 character and Controller for the other? Or do i need to have 2 controllers? If you have done this already please comment.

Yes, same as in the Online mode, you can use the Keyboard (mk) as well if you don't have 2 controllers, so it's not mandatory to have 2. :) When you select which character you want to play, the game will automatically detect the two separate input methods, so it will work just fine.
