Glitch at chapter 2: garage

I'm playing with a friend. I'm using SteamDeck, she's using her PC via Friend Pass.

We are at the 2nd chapter, the garage part right after the Farm side story.
There are 2 elevators which when one goes up, the other goes down, vice versa.

My friend is stuck at that part. Whenever her character takes the elevator, once she reaches a certain height, she automatically got dropped off & dies. She couldn't get to the top to trigger the lasso.

Without her getting through that part, we both couldn't progress in the game.

Is there any ideas how to tackle this problem?

Just out of curiosity, what happens if you switch characters between eachother just for this section?

My friend had the same problem - she got around it by falling onto the railing and jumping back onto the elevator once it came back up.
