A preference is liking one thing over another, not outright rejecting something. If you don’t want to see romance at all, that’s fair, you can dislike a genre. But specifically taking issue with love that looks different from yours isn’t a ‘preference,’ it’s just bias. Homosexual relationships aren’t any more sexual than straight ones, kids grow up watching Disney romances without issue. So if the problem is simply that they exist, maybe you’re the one who needs to grow up and accept differences. But hey, play whatever you want.
So I guess if that stuff normally bothers you, then this game won't have you crying and screaming, unless you are a major incel of course.
Simply wanted a clear answer before playing with my 10 y/o son.
Can imagine this discussion-policy contributes to the confusion.
I simply asked if there is g.y s.x in the game, which seems like a reasonable and relevant question?
Thanks for giving clarity on this; your reaction should be pinned.
It's not remotely relevant lol, you see two characters of the same-sex being protagonists and your mind instantly goes to sex?
If you see two people of the same-sex together in public do you ask the same thing? Y'know, that reasonable and relevant question.
It didn't cross my mind until encountering this discussion when I was troubleshooting the family-sharing/friends-pass bug.
So you bought a game and didn't look at the age rating description for your area that shows up on the steam page?
That area which would highlight any content of a sexual nature right?
I have seen it and it states violence; in our gamer house-hold we're used to virtual violence in games to some extent.
Last of us part II (just an example) does not show a marker for sexual content on Steam, even though it is in there.
But that is besides the point; just like OP I simply asked a question that is relevant for me as a father, which seems to evoke all kinds of judgement and indignation from people whose values I'm completely untethered from.
I have questions about why you want your 10yo son to play something like TLOU2 tbh.
I have not said that. You're just making up stuff for lack of arguments.
Talking about making stuff up lol, you.
With your whole seriously concerned about content but not even looking at age ratings for a game.
I know right? All these people acting like they played with other people. Its almost like the game was co-op only and came with a free friend pass or something.
none of this makes sense if this is serious thought process of yours. will you avoid playing a game with the sibling if somewhere in the story a character ends up having a baby because you fear the young sibling asking a question because its implied the character had sex and are afraid being asked where do babies come from?
kids are supposed to ask questions, it's a sign of intelligence, they have already heard about homosexuals if they are old enough that you think they will understand the controls of this game, if they ask why there a dad and a dad kissing instead of it being a mom and dad kissing, you give them an honest age appropriate response then move on. grow up lol.
even if this is a troll post if anyone reads this keep above statement keep in mind if have fear of what a kid might ask you. kids likely have an idea about what they are asking and avoiding it is just silly
