Correct, you will need another person to play the game with. Hazelight Discord server has an active Looking for Player section if you need to find someone

I'm good, thanks I prefer being a lone wolf unless just constantly killing stuff. Playing with other people on story base games breaks me out of the immersion. Last I tried was on Diablo 3. Which ruined my experience after playing one and two previously alone.
With them talking through cut-scenes and dialogue. Or trying to get me to do something instead of doing it myself organically.
I know my friends weren't doing it deliberately people just can't help themselves and trying to be helpful. I just get get distracted and side tracked to easily. So can't play with people and at the same time follow whats going on. Besides just killing stuff like in zombie mode in call of duty 6.

or maybe you're an unfriendly person. Split Fiction is a game of sharing , this is a social expriment over a simple videogame. this game is not for you. with an AI, the game would be scored 60-70 metacritic, because it'd be much more boring.

That's a lot of waffle to completely miss the point. The entire game is designed around experiencing its gameplay and narrative in coop. It's not like a single player game with an optional coop mode; the game would only work in coop, simple as.

It's the highest peak for any premium EA title on Steam of all time, and receiving very positive reviews. You're doing yourself a disservice to miss out on it for some silly personal reasons.

Just refund the game if u don't wanna play with other people or wait until you have better social skills.

Well it's a couch co-op game. The last 3 games Hazelight has made revolve around this concept. It's gameplay is completely integral to two people working together.
