EA Login required to invite friends to the game

I was wondering how there could be a EA game with overwhelmlingly good reviews, no denuvo crap and no EA 3rd party software/login. This should be a instabuy.

So I downloaded 80GB just to find a big fat button in the lobbie stating that you need to login to your EA Account to invite friends from any plattform.

Ok yeah... so at least a third party account required steam...
I don´t know if thats actually enough and gonna work. Not sure if I ever will find out either.

I found some other threads stating you can just invite ppl via steam. Can someone confirm that? Otherwise I will wait for my friends to come online :)

I'd like to know as well. This will be an instabuy from me if you don't need an EA account, because I wanna play this with my friend. But if you do need an EA account, I'll pass.

When you create a lobby there's an option to host your game on Steam's servers, which allows you to just send Steam invites, and an option to host it on EA's servers, which is necessary only if you want to do cross-play.

You will only be required to sign into an EA account if you intend to play cross play. Steam to Steam will not require an EA account login to play multiplayer.

Great news then. I just downloaded the game via friend pass to check, and it does seem to be the case. You just earned yourself another customer.
