Audio problems
I’m trying to turn off 3D audio because it’s causing a popping sound on my laptop. There’s no way to turn it off unless I’m missing something. Anybody else having this issue or know how to fix it?

There's a toggle for 3D audio under Audio settings at the bottom. Is that not working?

I’ve checked all the settings on my laptop and tried everything imaginable. Posting on here was my last resort. I guess I’ll just wait for an update that hopefully fixes the audio settings glitch

yeah, there is a button already, so it should be fixed soon.

I found the issue!

You need Dolby Atmos (i got it from microsoft store)
or
Windows Sonic for headphones

To enable Dolby Atmos or Windows Sonic in Windows:

1. Open the Sound settings dialog in Windows.
2. Navigate to the Playback tab, where you’ll see a list of playback devices.
3. Right-click on your default playback device and select Properties from the context menu.
4. In the Properties window, go to the Spatial sound tab.
5. From the dropdown menu in this tab, select either Dolby Atmos for Headphones, Dolby Atmos for Home Theater or WIndows Sonic for Headphones, depending on your setup.
6. Apply your settings by clicking OK.

After making this selection, the button or feature in your game should become active.

Have a nice Weekend ;)

you don't need that to play the game. i have a full Atmos setup and the button still doesn't work. it's a game thing. if it would need Atmos, it would say so or install it with the game or have it included.
there is not one game that tells you or demands that you install Atmos. so maybe don't spread misinformation... js

Atmos for headphones also costs money and is not free, only the Home Theater version is free. forgot to mention that hu? it costs $15! so yeah...definitely not needed!

fyi, the app is called Dolby Access and not Atmos... your whole post has so many errors it is almost funny...but isn't really. i repeat myself, don't spread BS (to be more direct).

typing all of this and failing to see that they mentioned 'windows sonic for headphones', which is free and does enable the 3d audio mode in game

3d audio is active without using it, it has nothing to do with it. sonic is also already in windows integrated and also just works with headphones, hence the name... :conwayshrug:

you still said a lot of wrong things regarding atmos. and since you mentioned sonic FOR HEADPHONES again, the atmos version costs money. did you read anything i actually wrote? i didn't fail to see anything, i just showed off your fails, nothing else. didn't even mention sonic because that was not the point.

'you still said a lot of wrong things' i didn't even type the original post man. and no, 3d audio doesn't work until you enable windows sonic, which is exactly what they wrote.

my bad, didn't look, because it "sounded" like it came from the other one.

whatever you use, the button has no function. :conwayshrug:
there's clearly something wrong, because you normally don't have to change anything in windows, it's done by the game.

This helped me:

Some players have reported popping sounds when using 3D audio. If you want to disable it:

Right-click the volume icon in the taskbar.

Select Spatial Sound > Off.
