Two separate saves

I purchased the game and would like to play the story with two different friends in parallel. Is that possible? Does the game creates two saves?

the only way to do this is to go to the save folder and swap the save file manually

i know that there are some save game managers that have been built (example www.gamesave-manager.com/). I haven't found one yet that has been updated to support Split Fiction, but it certainly makes a friendly interface to do the save swaps.

There's no way to have multiple playthroughs in-game, you have to backup and switch the saves for each friend manually

Along with It Takes Two, why can't they make such a simple feature when every other game in this vain you can?

The game has a chapter select where you can go play any chapter at any time. At worst you can just remember / note where you left each playthrough and start up the next session there. I don't think there is any persistent progress or anything, so that makes multiple saves pretty redundant.
