friend pass / family sharing

im trying to play this game with someone im also family sharing with and since im family sharing with them when i bought the game it shows up on there library as well. making the friend pass impossible to download is there any work around for this

This is normal. At least one person playing in the group needs to have bought the game. The friend pass only works when partied with someone that has the game.

This is not normal. I bought the game in my family group and my fiancée and her daughter were able to play with their account. One of them needs to download the game from your library and make sure they don't own the friends pass.

Are you able to get friends pass from other platform and play with someone from steam? Not sure is this works, as i played both on steam

Yes, it requires an EA account though.

so why EA allows family sharing for this game, when it makes absolutely no sense?

And why does this constellation work for @Alternity at Post#17 here?

I am playing the game with a family member. I own the game, and they installed the game via steam and launched it via this https://store.steampowered.com/app/3052150/Split_Fiction__Friends_Pass/

They are able to join the game.

Yes they were. One of them was playing my paid copy through family sharing.

Same problem here.

My son is in my family-share and gets an error when trying to download the friend's pass.

We didn't have this problem with It Takes Two.

Never get it working, to play full game.
Person A bought the game, but person B and C can not play (all in the same steam family).

We even tried to reinstall and one person install friends pass via EPIC.

So friends sharing with this game did not work for us...

I got it to work.

Basically you have to invite your family member through the game; that will trigger the full-game download for them.

Same here - we have family share but my other family share member can only Demo version of the game. Friend's pass does not work.

my friend has same problem, and I told her do the following step:
steam client : help -> steam support -> find the game split fiction
and select "I want to permanently remove this game from my account"

please do this ONLY IF you are play through friend game pass before.
this will delete the friend game pass from your library.

now you can play this game from your family share library.

Yeah no clue, it has always worked fine for another with family sharing with the friend pass for me since launch day. I think just buy it on one endpoint and simultaneously activate the friend pass on the other endpoint should work.
