Splitscreen still not optional ?
And if so, is it really not possible to implement that option?

Thank you and congratulations on the launch.

? You can either play splitscreen or both of you on different screens using different system
Every single game from this studio was a co-op game. Both locally and online.

Yeah I played It takes two online with a friend. I ask because being forced to only use half of my screen was personaly an annoying experience.
Was kinda hoping the option would now be given.

Same. I'd play this game only if I can use my entire screen, not just half of it (is that why 32:9 monitors were invented? 🤣). For example when I was playing Sackboy it was one camera all the time and it was great!

Same, will play it when I can use my entire screen.

So, never. The Split screen is the main point of this games lol

I'll agree Splitscreen is, by definition, the main point in couch co-op games.
But if you're playing online, it's distractive, restrictive and redundant.
I don't need\want to see the other player's screen, unless I'm playing with a non-gamer or a not very dextrous or perceptive person, which is the only case when it serves a purpose.

There was actually a way to play It Takes Two in fullscreen, but it required a second monitor, which was an over-the-top solution to play just one game.

It's integral to Hazelight games that both players can see each other at all times.

Why, though? Why force this upon a player instead of giving them a choice? When I play a co-op game with a friend and we talk over Discord, why would I want to see what he is doing on the other half of my screen? We can communicate: "Press that button.... wait.... NOW!" etc.

It blows my mind that I need to convince people that forced split screen is a bad decision. It is just so incredibly obvious to me, that I actually find it hard to find convincing arguments -- it's like having to convince someone water is wet.

I already said the post you replied to; its an integral feature that both players can actively see each other at all times during the game. That's what Hazelight's games always do. The cooperative aspects are designed around this one crucial concept.

Could you give some examples why it's an "integral feature"? Are there situations in the game that just won't work without it, even with Discord on?

I'm asking because I did play A Way Out with a friend in split screen despite how much we hated that, and our conclusion was that the split screen was utterly unnecessary and instead killed immersion.

Let's you work together without needing to put too much effort in communicating verbally.

Let's you see parts of the game you otherwise would have missed if you werent playing that character while they were in a different scene.

Makes for cool creative flexibility in how scenes are presented when both characters are near each other.
