Anyone who has played a game for only 1 to 6 minutes yet claims it as Game of the Year should not be seen as authoritative or honest. Such a review carries no more weight than that of one written by someone who doesn’t even own the game. It does not matter if the review is positive or negative, such reviews lack weight, thus they should be disregarded.
You took OP's question as a personal attack, which speaks volumes as to your intellectual capacity, and which direction your moral compass points.
You are emotionally invested in discussion, which is evident by the fact that every comment you have made is dismissive of the fact that many of the reviews are paid for.
Personaly, I think this game looks great, and have been watching it sense it's anouncment. I plan on asking one of my friends if they want to play it later after work.
One of the first things I noticed when looking at the reviews were how many are from people who recieeved it for free, give shockingly similer review styles that say almost nothing but blind praise, and had low play time. I notice this with games frequently, it's common, and in this case doesn't impact my intrest, but I definently noticed it. One of the first things I do when looking into any new game is read the actual 'review' reciews on the store page, so I noticed it pretty fast.
For some reason, no one has a problem when this is brought up with negative reviews, but when it's the positives doing it, no one bats an eye all of a sudden. Not worth thinking about.
Also, you're not being slick, everyone with eyes can tell you're trying to bait op into saying something controversial. Judging by what else I've read in these forums so far, you're trying to bait him them into saying they don't like playing as a woman or something. You flat out ignoring them what they asked why you're taking it so personal with a "Nope, next question" makes it glaringly obvious.
People can notice these reviews withought it being some sort of conspiracy, and they don't need to justify themselves to you just because they don't mention it on every steam game released under the sun with similer review activity. Stop talking to people with the tone of a disaproving father talking to a child, you aren't that important.
Came to the threads and saw this thread where OP had the same questions as me.
Saw the triggered response of that guy and was like "yeah right".
He dodge the obvious exposure statement that he takes it personal.
Maybe a hidden profile of a dev or 3rd degree friend of the game.
The evidence is in the time played. A game that is so good as to be declared worthy of a game of the year award would not have been played for a mere 1 to 6 minutes by the person making the declaration
My argument would hold up in a civil court lawsuit for false advertisement and business malpractice.
Paying for product reviews without disclosure is illegal. In the US, the FTC requires that paid reviews be clearly disclosed. The UK and EU have similar regulations under consumer protection laws.
Buddy, you're using the same tactics I used on the internet when I was a snobby know it all teenager in the 2000's. It's not slick, and no one is falling for it. I don't need your permission to see the writing on the wall dude. And I certainly don't need you're 'approval' to point it out.
But I'll play by your rules. I don't need to prove anything to 'you' either, nor does anyone else. I will compleatly disregard your holier than thou comment from this point forward. You said that's that, so I guess I'll stop it there. Good day to you.
How about this. Explain to me why a paying customer would claim that a game is amazing, the best of the year, but only play it for 1 to 6 minutes.
Why are you so emotionally invested in this game?
